Welcome to my central homepage.

I am currently a tenure-track assistant professor of Game Studies and Design (GSD) at the University of Montevallo, Alabama's only public liberal arts university. My GSD courses currently include History of Games, Survey of Modern Games, and Game Design Workshop.

I have taught at Samford University and the University of Florida
(UF), including an online course.

 

   
 


Cathlena Martin, Ph.D., is the assistant professor and coordinator of Game Studies and Design (GSD) at the University of Montevallo and the Director of the University of Montevallo Honors Program. She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Florida. Her research interests include children’s literature and games, game-based learning, and the history of games. Her publications include chapters in edited collections on topics such as Peter Pan and video games, play in Ender’s Game, adaptation in children's texts, and using wikis in the college classroom.
